Cebu Technological University (CTU) has achieved a significant milestone as four of its campuses, namely CTU Main, Argao, Carmen, and Ginatilan, have been formally recognized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to offer the three-year Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 5 Diploma in Mechatronics Technology.
The recognition was conferred during TESDA Region VII’s launch of its pilot PQF Level 5 Diploma Programs on December 2, 2025, in Cebu City. The program’s offering at CTU was approved through Board Resolution No. 87, series of 2025, affirming the university’s adherence to governance, quality assurance, and academic standards set at the national level.
CTU officials from the four TESDA-recognized campuses—Argao, Ginatilan, Carmen, and the Main Campus—attended the event, represented respectively by their campus directors, namely Dr. Eingilbert C. Benolirao, Dr. Glicerio A. Baguia, Dr. Anthony S. Ilano, and Acting Program Coordinator Dr. Lelanie S. Cordero.
The diploma aims to equip graduates with competencies in mechanical systems, electronics, automation, robotics, and computer-controlled processes. These skills are vital to the manufacturing and semiconductor industries.
The recognition underscores CTU’s commitment to expanding access to advanced technical education and ensuring students across its campuses receive training aligned with industry demands and global workforce expectations.
