CTU researchers advance qualitative research through 4-day workshop

To boost research rigor and foster knowledge advancement at Cebu Technological University (CTU), faculty researchers and project leaders convened at Voice Into Research: Advancing Qualitative Inquiry for Academic Impact from November 17 to 20, 2025.

Led by Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, Vice President for Research and Development, the workshop focused on enhancing qualitative research practices and enriching scholarly contributions across the university’s disciplines.

On the first two days, resource speaker Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay of Eastern Visayas State University discussed “Major Misconceptions in Research,” “Introduction to Qualitative Inquiry and Philosophical Gounding,” “Meaning, Positionality, and Rigor in Qualitative Research,” and “Narrative and Phenomenological Approaches: Transforming lived experiences into scholarly insight.”

Day three and four featured CTU’s Dr. Ariel L. Ramos, who led sessions on “Navigating the Qualitative Landscape: Designs and Frameworks Unveiled Introduction to Common Qualitative Designs and Analytical Frameworks” and “Decoding the Story: Structuring Your Qualitative Findings Actual Data Analysis.”
