Dr. Daisy Obiso of CTU Barili had students and faculty at Pakistan’s National University of Science and Technology (NUST) virtually listening to her talk on “Integrating SDGs on Home Economics Education” on December 19th.
The event marked the first collaboration between CTU and the top-ranked NUST, since the agreement signing in 2022.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aisha Jalil from the Human Nutrition and Dietetics Department of NUST School of Health Sciences facilitated the event, in coordination with NUST’s International Strategies and Partnerships Office.
“The lecture went exceptionally well, and it was highly appreciated by our faculty and students alike,” said Dr. Jalil, one of NUST’s renowned academics, in a statement to the CTU Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Office.
CTU’s relationship with NUST, which has only seen a concrete engagement toward the end of this year, has a series of cooperative pathways lined up until the partnership expires 10 years hence.
Particularly, the lectureship series is one of IAI’s
banner programs in improving its academic reputation, which would also impact that of NUST.
Ranked at 371 in the QS World 2026, its excellence in engineering, science, and technology, that CTU similarly promotes is a robust element in the alliance that should define the latter’s future trajectory in the same ranking methodology.
IAI Director Rhodora Magan, in a statement to ICPA, has lauded the active engagement of the southern campus in the online lectureship series./IAI
