Five Electrical Engineering students at Cebu Technological University–Main Campus secured both the SIGMA and OMEGA awards at the National Student Competition on Engineering (NSCON) held on November 25, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
Organized by the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE), this prestigious event brought together the nation’s top engineering students to compete and showcase their exceptional skills.
In the National Quiz Show (NQS), the team emerged as champions, composed of Rex A. Nacario, Jimm Rex O. Ranoco, Angelo V. Aro, Christian R. Logpit, and Mark Lloyd Edson P. Calledo.
The same team also secured First Runner-Up award in the National Math Wizard (NWS) category, marking an even more remarkable achievement for CTU.
The students’ achievements were marked by the prestigious SIGMA (Σ) and OMEGA (Ω) Awards. Sigma, in the Math Wizard category, embodies summation through the integration of knowledge, logic, and problem‑solving skills, while Omega, in the National Quiz Show, signifies resistance through clear thinking, application of fundamentals, and performance under pressure.
Their dual triumph reflects the guidance of their coaches, namely Engr. Marvin A. Radaza, Dr. Junrey C. Bacus, Engr. Lorenz Gerard P. Batusin, Engr. Xavier Julian Fernandez, Mr. Christian A. Pulvera, and Mr. Angelo M. Gimaran, along with the firm support of College Dean Dr. Joecyn N. Archival.
Representing Region VII, the CTU team demonstrated excellence, resilience, and mastery of their field, bringing pride and honor to their university.
Their victory underscored the team’s depth of knowledge, strategic thinking, and poise under pressure, further elevating the prestige of Cebu Technological University–Main Campus and Region VII.
