7 CTU Nursing students excel at Filipino Nurses Global Summit VI, International Nursing Conference

Seven Nursing students at the Cebu Technological University–Cebu City Medical Center (CTU-CCMC)-College of Nursing, made their mark at the Global Filipino Summit VI and the 15th International Nursing Conference, held last January 22-23, 2026, at a hotel in Manila.

Jeannette G. Catubig, Iannah Marie Dolera, Clark Jendri B. Endrina, Jun Paul N. Genobatin, Eddie F. Gregorio Jr., Vianca Abegail T. Guarin, and Simone Daniel E. Luarez, all from the Class of 2026, were recognized for their accomplishment and participation in the two-day event, which provided a premier venue for Filipino nurses and nursing students worldwide to share progressive practices, foster collaboration, and advance leadership in education, practice, and research.

Luarez earned first place among 22 participants in the Research Poster Category on the first day of the event, with his study titled “Exploring the Lived Experiences of Cebuano Generation Z in Seeking Psychiatric Care.”

Meanwhile, Dolera and Genobatin were honored for achieving second place among 24 participants in the same category on the second day, through their research, “A Journey of Hope Among Newly Diagnosed People Living with HIV in Cebu City.” 

Further recognition was given to Endrina and Catubig for presenting their research on a global platform, “The Potential Antimicrobial Effects of Copper Sheets Against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa: An In Vitro Study.” Guarin and Gregorio Jr. were also recognized for their study, “Bridging Gaps: The Lived Experiences of Persons with Physical and Visual Impairments in Seeking Healthcare in Selected Barangays in Cebu City.” 

Among those who supported them were Dr. Audrey L. Garganera, Dean of the College of Nursing; Dr. Imelda M. Daño, College’s Research Chairman; and Mrs. Ma. Carmila I. Rama, Ethics Chairman. CTU‑CCMC expressed its gratitude to Mayor Nestor D. Archival and the Cebu City community for their continued support of the College of Nursing’s mission.

The CTU‑CCMC–College of Nursing continues to prepare future healthcare professionals whose expertise is anchored in scientific rigor, compassion, service, and innovative approaches to addressing health concerns in the community.
