To enhance the digital literacy of Barangay San Roque personnel in Cebu City, Cebu Technological University’s College of Computer, Information and Communications Technology (CCICT) has completed Phase 1 of its extension project, “BarangayConnect Training: ICT-Driven Solutions for Community Profiling, Barangay Operations, and Local Services.”
Running from August 22 to October 17, 2025, the training aimed to strengthen the digital competencies of barangay officials and staff by transitioning from manual documentation to a fully digitized, streamlined, and data-driven system that modernizes community records management and improves the efficiency of barangay operations.
Interactive sessions and hands-on activities equipped participants with practical skills essential for modern governance, including digital documentation, data management, and ICT-enabled service delivery.
The project was spearheaded by Dr. Narcisan S. Galamiton, together with faculty members and students of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program of CCICT.
Through the training, CTU-CCICT emphasized the vital role of technology in enhancing transparency, accuracy, and responsiveness in local governance.
