CTU receives WURI Global Award in South Korea

Elevating its international standing, Cebu Technological University (CTU) secured a global distinction at the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Conference, hosted by Tongmyong University in Busan, South Korea, from September 24 to 26, 2025.

CTU further stood out by gaining recognition in two specialized categories of the WURI 2025 rankings, with its faculty representatives receiving certificates and a plaque.

In the Cost-Effectiveness Management category, CTU ranked 28th, led by Dr. Lolita Velita with co-researcher Dr. Ester F. Medalla of CTU Main Campus. In the Technology Development and Application category, the university secured the 33rd spot through the work of Prof. Elmo Ranolo and his co-researcher, Dr. Ken Gorro of CTU Carmen Campus.

CTU faculty also presented their research papers: ‘Enhancing the Entrepreneurial Culture of the CTU Community’ by Dr. Velita, and ‘Identification and Web Mapping of Seaweed, Seagrass, and Coral in Coastal Areas Using YOLO V7’ by Prof. Ranolo.

These milestones elevate the university’s global standing among competitive higher education institutions, reaffirming its commitment to innovation,  sustainability, community impact, and excellence.
