Continuing the northern caravan, Hanbat National University delegates found themselves planting mangroves in Danao’s ecotourism site.
Anchored on the United Nation’s vision, the intercultural exchange had the South Korean group sustaining Danao’s Tawsan Mangrove Park, where they also had a lecture on the city’s initiative operating for years now.
The trip’s sustainability motif articulates the University’s strategic campaign in enriching initiatives on global discursive frames, such as planetary health, said Presidential Strategist for Global Discourse Leadership Dr. Rhodora Magan.
Students and staff from San Francisco and Danao campuses joined the activity. Particularly, the former’s attendance materialized the non-host campus’ engagement with CTU’s foreign ally.
San Fran and Danao Internationalization and ASEAN Integration chairs Dr. Vincent Borres and Dr. Edralin General navigated today’s whole-day stint, punctuating it with going down the Danaonon memory lane (facilitated by the city’s Tourism Department).
Tomorrow, the group heads to CTU Carmen (joined by Daanbantayan and Tuburan) for a Korean language class, with IAI chair Prof. Gypsy Capuno manning the event./IAI
