In a promising start to the new year, CTU received its first partnership deal from Italy. Reaching out early today is the University of Basilicata (UNIBAS) in Potenza (southern Italy), one that basks in rich Roman and medieval history.
The offer is “surprising,” said Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) director Dr. Rhodora Magan, in a statement to ICPA, owing to what she would call a behavior not common to European HEIs.
Professor Donatello Cardone’s moxie to make CTU readily embrace the opportunity includes outlining in the agreement letter the scholarships that cover accommodation, meals, travel, visa, and health insurance.
These grants launched by the Regional Agency for the Right to Education of the Basilicata Region (ARDSU) envisions foreign students to enroll in any of the second cycle degree programs (master’s degree courses) offered by UNIBAS’ Department of Engineering.
CTU’s College of Engineering across campuses looks to have this year’s early international headway, and describing the development, Dr. Magan added, “It is a delightful way to start the year with God’s gift from Il Bel Paese.”
Dr. Cardone hopes for the signing to be expedited in order to catch up with the deadline of the 2026 call for ARDSU scholarships.
In the agreement, research collaborations and exchange of students and faculty, among others, are highly anticipated.
A future European experience for CTU constituents and a Cebuano immersion for these Italians will soon unfold, said the IAI director. /IAI.
