Korean lifeway seeps in CTU Carmen on Day 3 of cultural negotiation

The northern caravan’s final stop at CTU Carmen yesterday had Hanbat National University (HNBU) staff promoting their identitarian values through a lecture on their traditions and culture.

It was the visit’s apt punctuation that both institutions designed to further stabilize interculturalities within the cooperative framework renewed last year, apart from the many pathways expected to transpire moving on.

Students and staff layered the event with their takes on South Korean inclinations that have formed part of the Filipino consciousness, such as the products participants received to contextualize the elements that have drawn many to their country.

In turn, they learned a great deal about the town’s qualities. They were introduced to crafts such as sinamay, promoted by the campus itself, apart from its cultivation of marine life, as fisheries is its flagship program.

Campus Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Chair Gypsy Capuno mobilized students and staff—from staging cultural performances to sharing extension programs that enrich the littoral communities.

Diversifying the audience were Tuburan and Daanbantayan campuses, with IAI Chairs Cheryl Dorog and Dr. Tracy Mantos, respectively, leading their delegations.

Their presence conveyed a concretized milieu for global interactions enabled for said campuses, whose locations had previously impeded their inclusion in the caravan’s northern route.

Following the Carmen experience, the group rests on Thursday and attends the closing ceremony on Friday at CTU Main./IAI
