Korean visiting professor joins 2nd semester teaching at CTU Barili

Within the ambit of volunteerism, Professor Kong Hwan Kim arrived yesterday to join as a visiting professor at Cebu Technological University Barili Campus for the second semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.

Dr. Rhodora Magan, the University Director for Internationalization and ASEAN Integration, welcomed Professor Kim today and pointed to how the South Korean academic gifted CTU, which she believes, in a statement to ICPA, is “a great way to commence 2026.”

Previously serving as a professor at South Korea’s Ajou University, Professor Kim is sharing at the southern campus his extensive expertise in food engineering, food processing, bioengineering unit operations, extraction of bioactive compounds, and food and health.

Since 2005, he has led and participated in numerous overseas volunteer programs and instructional projects across Asia, including Nepal, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan, often using personal resources to support educational outreach.

His earlier academic appointments were at Sejong University and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

The University’s commitment to the internationalization agenda should not waver moving forward, Dr. Magan added.
