Tochigi-based envoys eye CTU as prime partner

CTU’s diverse programs as its main draw prompted yesterday’s visit of Tochigi International Association (TIA) representatives to lay down terms for a prospective alliance.

Focalizing agriculture—specialization of the lead envoy Masaharu Suginouchi—the agreement is primarily targeting CTU campuses as Barili, Tuburan, Argao, CCMSC to prepare qualified students for an immersion in Tochigi Prefecture, an hour away from Tokyo.

However, the association is seeing a bigger ambit of cooperation to include all of CTU’s banner programs, particularly engineering and mechatronics.

Suginouchi vouched for multiple grants TIA can facilitate from an array of companies within the prefecture, which would require Japanese proficiency from applicants.

Dr. Rhodora Magan, designated for CTU’s global positionality, said that TIA is a definitive scaffolding agent for the University’s employability reputation moving forward.

Returning to Japan this week, Suginouchi and Hiroshi Miyagi are reporting the viability of the industry-academe link to the prefecture.

He added that Barili is a favorable starting point, as he had personally experienced the locality during his stay in Cebu a couple of years back.

By then CTU would expedite the signing of the agreement to ensure outbound mobilities by the last quarter of the year.

Barili IAI chair Julibeth Albarracin facilitated TIA’s introduction to the University’s internationalization arm.
