Cebu Technological University–Main Campus announces the suspension of classes and work on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in observance of Cebu City’s Charter Day.
The suspension is pursuant to Republic Act No. 7287, signed in 1992, which declares February 24 as a special non-working holiday in Cebu City in commemoration of its founding anniversary.
Cebu City was granted its charter on February 24, 1937, through Commonwealth Act No. 58, enacted by Congress on October 20, 1936. The bill was authored and sponsored by the late Senator Vicente Rama, then representative of Cebu’s 3rd district, who is widely recognized as the “Father of Cebu City.”
