The Cebu Technological University-Main Campus (CTU-MC) community gathered today, February 10, with full energy and zeal to mark the opening of the four-day Sulagpo: The CebuTech Intramurals 2026 at the CTU Main grounds.
With the theme ‘Rise, Innovate, and Unite through Sports, Culture, and Arts,’ the event highlighted CTU’s commitment to excellence, camaraderie, and the holistic development of its students.
During the opening program, CTU-Main Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr. warmly welcomed students, faculty, and deans from the various colleges: College of Arts and Sciences (CAS); College of Education (COED), College of Computer, Information and Communications Technology (CCICT); College of Management and Entrepreneurship (CME), and College of Technology (COT).
Dr. Romeo P. Montecillo, Vice President for Student Affairs, delivered an inspirational message on behalf of OIC‑University President Dr. Denilin P. Batulan, as the spirit of Sulagpo filled the campus.
“Let us move forward with courage and purpose. This intramurals is not just a display of strength and skills, it is a celebration of determination, teamwork, and most especially, friendships,” said Dr. Montencillo.
The official opening was led by Dr. Rizza R. Caumeran, OIC Chairperson for Campus Sports and Wellness, through the symbolic torch lighting by Lexter Gaihe, National SCUAA fourth placer and Sydney Marathon International Qualifier, who also delivered the Oath of Sportsmanship.
Representatives of Mr. and Ms. Sulagpo first energized the crowd with dance production numbers, then showcased their respective sports attire by college, highlighting charm, talent, and sportsmanship. Julia Jamaica Offergeld of CAS was crowned Ms. Sulagpo 2026, while Ralph Christian Soco of COED was named Mr. Sulagpo 2026.
The Sulagpo: The CebuTech Intramurals 2026, stood as the stage where skill, grit, and unity shone, capturing the essence of the event as athletes, performers, and supporters united in competition and camaraderie.
