In a bid to boost student-centered scholarship services, the Office of the University Director for Financial Assistance and Student Scholarship Program (FASSP) at Cebu Technological University (CTU) convened scholarship coordinators and staff for a university-wide coordination meeting from February 11-13 in Barili, Cebu.
Hosted by CTU Barili Campus, the sessions fostered synergy and pushed for unified, standardized scholarship processes institution‑wide, while also addressing concerns raised across campuses.
Ms. Janet A. Saragena, OIC–University Director for FASSP, echoed the point emphasized by Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Romeo P. Montecillo in their previous meeting: the university is moving toward a unified and standardized process for all transactions.
“As the UD for Scholarship, I would like to reiterate this goal, specifically for all scholarship-related processes. This is why we are gathered here today—to develop a comprehensive Scholarship Policy Manual and create a standardized template that will serve as our official guide and foundation for all procedures,” said Ms. Saragena.
The sessions also opened a channel for collaboration with the technical staff from the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST) through a Zoom session, ensuring CTU’s policies and procedures stay aligned with national guidelines and institutional goals.
Further, the meeting backed the institution’s broader goals of consistency, transparency, and equitable access across campuses.
The three‑day coordination activity fostered collaboration, streamlined communication, and reaffirmed the CTU’s pursuit to offer scholarship services that are efficient, standardized, and student‑centered.
