Currently considered for vetting, the  pre-signed agreement sent in November has proved Häme University of Applied Sciences’  (HAMK) trajectory with Cebu Technological University (CTU)  toward multiple collaborations, particularly the deployment of a visiting professor.

The  agenda between CTU and HAMK has been actively pursued since 2022. After sustained talks over the past years, the initiative has now regained strong momentum as CTU’s Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Team intensifies efforts to attract high-caliber international faculty.

Central to this development is Prof. Vesa Salminen, a globally recognized expert in mechatronics, AI, robotics, and human-oriented digital transformation. He has an extensive academic and industry background, having served as Professor at HAMK, LUT University of Technology, and as Senior Research Scientist at MIT. He has contributed to over 200 publications.

Prof. Salminen is not new to CTU’s academic circle. He previously met CTU representatives during engagements in Singapore and participated in one of the university’s international congresses years ago. His renewed intention to take part in CTU’s teaching ecosystem reflects an evolving partnership anchored on mutual academic respect.

The IAI Team views HAMK’s pre-signing as more than a procedural milestone. It creates a global traction and sharpens its aspiration to become a leading institution in Southeast Asia.

With HAMK formally initiating, both institutions move closer to translating long-standing dialogue into concrete academic integration./IAI
