Doğuş University in Istanbul has hosted Dr. Denilin Batulan, marking the fifth academic from Cebu Technological University (CTU) to engage in a short-term teaching stint in Türkiye and the third Turkish institution to receive a CTU lecturer.
Initiated in August 2025, the activity coincided with Dr. Batulan’s recent transition to Officer-in-Charge (OIC) President of CTU. She represented the university both as scholar and as its acting head.
Dr. Batulan’s three-part lecture series from February 23 through 27 titled “Equity and Justice in Education: Empowering Marginalized Communities through Inclusive Practices” showed her long-standing work on inclusive education. Her focus has shaped her contributions as both faculty member and former Faculty Regent.
The OIC President also met with Doğuş University’s vice rector to explore further avenues for institutional cooperation, strengthening the partnership between the Philippine state university and its Turkish counterpart.
The lectureship, under the cooperation framework established with Dogus in late 2025, is part of CTU’s broader internationalization efforts, which previously facilitated the same mobility pattern for CTU Daanbantayan and Argao academics at other Istanbul-based institutions—Karabuk University and Istanbul Kultur University.
CTU’s Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Team aims to sustain this trajectory, which entrenches the university’s academic reputation. Recent engagements in Europe have further enhanced CTU’s profile as a partner capable of forging alliances and creating platforms for expertise exchange.
In a statement to IAI, Dr. Batulan described her teaching assignment as a rich and meaningful experience. Notable was her engagement with students who had previously faced limitations to their liberty but are now reintegrating into society, gaining access to higher learning and new opportunities in an international academic environment./IAI
