AboitizPower’s Therma Visayas, Inc. turns over college scholarships to CTU scholars

Twenty student scholars from Cebu Technological University (CTU) officially received college scholarships under the Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI) College Scholarship Program during a ceremonial turnover on March 3, held at CTU Main Campus.

Scholars from Academic Years 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 each received ₱15,000 per semester in financial assistance.

They are enrolled in programs offered by CTU’s Colleges of Technology (COT), Education (COED), Engineering (COE), Management and Entrepreneurship (CME), and Arts and Sciences (CAS), representing the CTU Main, Pinamungajan, Toledo, and Carmen campuses.

Mr. Leon Ardo L. Robel, Jr., Vice President for Corporate Services of the Transition Business Group–Visayas, stressed the importance of inclusive progress, uplifting not only the enterprise but also the people and communities who serve as partners in development.

“At TVI, we firmly believe that our responsibilities go beyond powering industries and homes, as part of the AboitizPower group, and in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated, we are guided by our shared purpose of advancing business and communities,” Mr. Robel expressed.

Mr. Roberto Yabes, External Relations and Reputation & Stakeholder Management (RSM) Manager of Thermal Business Corp., emphasized that, together, they ensure that students receive not only financial assistance but also the essential support for their success.

“The TVI College Scholarship Program provides opportunities to deserving students who would otherwise have no access to tertiary education due to limited resources,” Mr. Yabes said.

The activity was facilitated by the Office of the University Director for Financial Assistance and Student Scholarship Program (FASSP), headed by OIC–University Director Ms. Janet A. Saragena.

The ceremony was attended by scholars’ parents and guardians, alongside CTU officials, including Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Ramel C. Genobiagon, CTU Pinamungajan Campus Director Dr. Redjie D. Arcadio, and Cashier IV Mr. Irwin P. Allego.

Through this partnership, AboitizPower and CTU reaffirm their shared commitment to building brighter futures by investing in education and sustainable, inclusive community development.
