Cebu Technological University (CTU) has been recognized as one of the Philippines’ top-performing institutions in intellectual property after earning the 2025 Platinum Cluster Award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the national awarding ceremony held on March 24–25, 2026 in Iloilo City.
The Platinum Cluster Award is one of the highest recognitions given to institutions that demonstrate outstanding performance in intellectual property generation, protection, and commercialization.
CTU’s inclusion among the country’s top institutions highlights the university’s strong commitment to innovation, research productivity, and technology development.
In addition to the Platinum recognition, CTU also received a Special Citation Award as the 2025 ITSO Top Filer for Utility Model, recognizing the university’s significant number of utility model applications that support practical innovations and industry-driven solutions.
The university was also granted another Special Citation Award for successfully filing at least 25 Industrial Design Applications, demonstrating excellence not only in functional innovation but also in design and product development.
Representing the university during the awarding ceremony, ITSO Manager Dr. Juvy B. Malonjao received the awards on behalf of CTU.
The recognitions reflect the collective efforts of the university’s researchers, faculty, staff, and student innovators who continue to contribute to the institution’s growing portfolio of technologies, inventions, and creative works.
