Reaffirming its commitment to a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment, Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus intensifies its campaign against sexual harassment by convening student scholars for an orientation on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act and the Safe Spaces Act today at the CTU Main Gymnasium.
The activity forms part of the university’s ongoing initiatives in line with the celebration of National Women’s Month and Gender and Development (GAD) Month this March, underscoring CTU’s sustained efforts to promote gender sensitivity, awareness, and accountability across its academic community.
Organized by the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Office in collaboration with the Gender and Development (GAD) Office and the Legal Office, the orientation reflects a unified institutional approach to strengthening policies and deepening understanding of rights, responsibilities, and protections under the law.
In his welcome remarks, CTU Main Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr. emphasized the university’s continued role in fostering a culture of vigilance and respect, urging students and personnel alike to actively uphold safe spaces within and beyond the campus.
Leading the discussion, Atty. Christian T. Bacus, Attorney III, highlights the evolving importance of awareness and collective responsibility in addressing sexual harassment. He underscores that building a safe university environment requires not only knowledge of the law but also consistent action and shared commitment from all members of the community.
This orientation forms part of CTU Main Campus’s continuing efforts to equip its community with the knowledge and accountability needed to prevent sexual harassment and uphold safe, respectful spaces on campus.
