Dr. Ancheta earns prestigious APEC Engineer Title

Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., SUC Vice President IV and Vice President for Production, Extension, and Resource Generation at Cebu Technological University, is among the 49 Filipino engineers conferred the APEC Engineer title — an international recognition of excellence, integrity, and professional expertise.

The conferment ceremony, held on March 25, 2026, at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office in Quezon City, honored engineers who have met globally recognized standards, opening opportunities to practice across APEC member economies.

The ceremonial conferment was led by Hon. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education and Chair of the AERP-NMC. She officiated the pinning, wearing of the sash, and the awarding of the medal and certificate, together with Hon. Charito A. Zamora, Chairperson of the Professional Regulation Commission and Member of the AERP-NMC, and Engr. Federico A. Monsada, President of the Philippine Technological Council and Member of the AERP-NMC.

Following a rigorous evaluation by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and the Philippine Technological Council (PTC), the awardees have demonstrated qualifications aligned with international benchmarks in engineering practice.
The event also featured the official turnover of the chairmanship of the APEC Engineer Register Philippines – National Monitoring Committee (AERP-NMC) from CHED to PRC, marking a significant transition in leadership.

Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional forum that promotes sustainable economic growth, trade, and investment across the Asia-Pacific region.
This milestone reflects Cebu Technological University’s strong commitment to excellence and global competitiveness.

Congratulations, Dr. Ancheta!
