Museo Sugbo, CTU amplify women’s cultural voices through Women’s Forum 2026

To culminate the Women’s Month celebration, Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus partnered with Museo Sugbo and held Empowering Voices: Women’s Forum 2026 at the Centennial Building Conference Hall today, March 31, 2026.

Led by the Head Curator, Mr. Francis P. Pesons, Museo Sugbo organized the collective empowerment of women, together with the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, following the national theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”

The forum featured sessions on “Women in Community Development and Advocacy” by Sangguniang Panlungsod Secretariat Atty. Charisse Piramide and “Bridging Advocacy and Cultural Expression” by heritage advocate Ms. Haidee Palapar.

During the open forum, Dr. Teresita B. Capin, CTU Main GAD Chairperson, and Ms. Caridad Balisacan, Museum In-Charge of St. Therese’s College of Cebu, responded to questions from participants.

In line with the advocacy of strengthening women’s representation in Cebuano heritage, the discussions highlighted the importance of embracing women’s identities, sustaining community legacy, and preserving cultural heritage.

By challenging traditional gender stereotypes, the forum underscored CTU’s continued commitment to promoting inclusive dialogue and empowering women’s voices in culture, heritage, and society.Faith Hyacinth Pacquiao – CTU Main BAL Intern
