The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted an on-site validation visit for the Bachelor of Science in Graphics and Design program at Cebu Technological University Main Campus on April 20, 2026, as part of the evaluation for its Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC).
The validation, held at the Conference Office on the 6th floor of the Administration Building, involved an assessment of the program’s curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and learning resources. After the evaluation, the program was found to have complied with the requirements set by the technical panel, signifying adherence to CHED’s prescribed standards for program implementation.
The CHED technical panel was composed of Ar. Robert Sac, Ar. Danilo Silvestre, and Engr. Leonardo Tanael Jr., together with representatives from the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), including Charity Barrera and Ar. Lowella Marie Dionglay.
University officials and faculty members present during the visit included Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr.; faculty members of the Graphics and Design Department, including Vice President for Student Affairs Romeo P. Montecillo, University Director for Quality Assurance, Dr. Meralei J. Lawas, Chairperson, Graphics and Design Department, Janet P. Montecillo; College of Technology Dean Dr. Janice A. Alivio, and the University Librarian Morena E. Carlos.
The BS Graphics and Design program, first offered in Academic Year 2009–2010 through Board of Trustees Resolution No. 622, s. 2009, is among the university’s programs undergoing quality assurance review.
The program was conceptualized with the assistance of Dr. Cecilio S. Baga, University Director for SUC Leveling and former Vice President for Research and Development, who also initiated the BS Mechatronics program.
The onsite validation marks a significant step in the university’s efforts to secure the Certificate of Program Compliance for the BS Graphics and Design program, reinforcing CTU’s commitment to maintaining quality standards set by the CHED./Jhevey Yan R. Sadio- CTU Main BAL Intern
