Cebu Technological University (CTU) reinforced its commitment to environmental compliance and regulatory excellence following the successful conduct of the 2026 CTU Pollution Control Office (PCO) Strategic Summit held on April 15–16, 2026.
The two-day summit brought together campus directors and prospective pollution control officers to collaborate on strengthening institutional adherence to environmental laws and supporting accreditation efforts.
The initiative also sought to enhance the University’s role in promoting responsible and sustainable operations across all campuses.
The program featured a series of lectures and discussions on key provisions of Philippine environmental laws, equipping participants with updated knowledge and practical insights.
Engr. Cindylyn Pepito-Ochea, Chief of the Environmental Education and Information Unit of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) Region VII, discussed the salient features of national environmental policies and regulatory frameworks on the first day of the activity.
This was followed on the second day by Engr. Alan Dinampo, President of the Cebu Climate Change Association Incorporated, who expanded on compliance strategies and emphasized the importance of aligning institutional practices with national environmental standards.
Underscoring the purpose of the summit, Dr. Ve Leslie E. Atanoza, Main Campus Pollution Control Officer, highlights that the initiative aims “to strengthen our understanding, deepen our commitment, and improve our capacity to operate responsibly and in full compliance with environmental regulations.”
