Student-built digital dashboards showcasing sustainability-focused innovations were presented as the Future Science and Technology Leaders of the Philippines–Cebu Technological University Main Campus (FSTLP CTU–MC), in partnership with Notion CTU, concluded “SDiGify: A Digital Solutions Workshop for Sustainable Development” on April 20 at the Centennial Building.
The workshop began on April 18 with a virtual orientation introducing participants to Notion as a platform for developing and managing sustainability-driven projects.
Abie Gaile Casio, FSTLP Vice President for Internal Affairs and Notion Campus Leader, delivered the opening remarks, followed by John Rowen Miano, FSTLP President and Notion Campus Leader, who outlined the workshop framework anchored on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants engaged in guided lectures, dashboard walkthroughs, and live demonstrations designed to build both conceptual understanding and technical skills. The sessions also introduced the guidelines for the SDiGify Dashboard Competition.
During the culminating activity, 13 teams from six colleges presented SDG-aligned dashboards featuring digital solutions such as activity trackers, advocacy platforms, and gamified systems. The outputs highlighted the integration of sustainability concepts into functional digital designs.
Team Novus, represented by Denis Magno Jr., Janscre D. Manlangit, and Jeilyn G. Igoy, won first place. Team DAR-lings placed second, composed of Samantha Oplado, Marjorie O. Sabanal, and Precious Zyna Naveo, while Team Rubick secured third place with members John Benedict Cortes, Gerby Cruzat, and Joshua Potot.
Casio emphasized that the workshop aimed to transform students into “student-scientists of structure” by applying systems thinking and data-driven approaches to sustainability challenges.
She added that SDiGify enables participants to translate SDG concepts into practical, digital solutions.
The SDiGify 2026 workshop underscored the role of digital tools in advancing sustainability initiatives and demonstrated how student-led innovations can contribute to real-world applications within and beyond the university./Jhevey Yan R.
