PAEPI–Central Visayas officers pay courtesy visit to CTU president, present plans for international research and sustainable extension conference at CTU Main Campus

The Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors (PAEPI)–Central Visayas, Inc. officers paid a courtesy visit to OIC University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus today to present plans for an international extension conference to be held at CTU Main Campus, which will spotlight research and sustainable university extension initiatives.

Anchored on the theme “Transforming Communities through University-Led Extension for Sustainable Development,” the event is envisioned as a key venue for innovation sharing, exchange of best practices, and collaborative action to advance sustainable extension programs.

During the meeting, organizers discussed shifting the initially proposed international conference, originally presented in January, into a forum and symposium led by Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, Vice President for Research and Development. The revision aims to avoid duplication with a recently conducted international conference held in Coron.

The meeting also formally apprised Dr. Literatus of the event while ensuring alignment in institutional preparations.

The three-day event is expected to feature invited international speakers from Spain, Indonesia, and Thailand, providing broader perspectives on extension initiatives and programs.

The International Extension Symposium and Technology Forum (IESTF) will be held at CTU Main Campus on May 20–22.

Present at the meeting were OIC President Dr. Literatus and representatives from PAEPI Central Visayas, including Dr. Luni N. Villacastin of Cebu Institute of Technology–University; Dr. Anne S. Lorca of CTU Main Campus; Dr. Ritchie Montebon of the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue; and Rizza Branzon and Isabela Sierra of Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine.

The meeting concluded with CTU and PAEPI Central Visayas affirming their coordination efforts to ensure the successful conduct of the international conference, which aims to advance sustainable university extension through knowledge exchange and collaboration./Jhevey Yan R. Sadio-CTU Main BAL Intern
