The College of Computer, Information, and Communications Technology (CCICT) of Cebu Technological University – Main Campus successfully implemented the “Komputer Mo, Ayuhon Ko Extension Project” in partnership with Barangay Zapatera from November 14, 2025, to March 6, 2026.
The nearly four-month extension program provided supervised training in basic computer repair, troubleshooting, and other digital technology-related competencies to strengthen participants’ technical skills.
The partnership was established between Hon. David M. Agravante, Punong Barangay of Barangay Zapatera, and Dr. Noreen B. Fuente, Associate Professor of CTU Main’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program, who served as the project leader and program chair.
Faculty members from the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) program conducted training sessions that provided barangay staff with proficient technical skills necessary for administering policies and regulations, while also equipping selected out-of-school youth with computer-related knowledge and expertise.
Through a series of hands-on training sessions and guided activities, participants enhanced their digital literacy and developed competencies relevant to administrative work, employment opportunities, and community service.
The successful completion of the “Komputer Mo, Ayuhon Ko Extension Project” underscored the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and local government units in promoting technology-driven community development.
The initiative also reflects CTU’s continued commitment to delivering community extension services that foster digital empowerment, technical advancement, and globally competitive communities. / Faith Hyacinth Pacquiao, CTU Main BAL Intern
