Cebu Technological University (CTU), in collaboration with the Cebu City Health Department, successfully conducted a Mobile Blood Donation Drive on May 6, 2026, at the CTU–Main Campus Gymnatorium, reaffirming its commitment to public health, community service, and social responsibility.
The initiative was spearheaded by licensed medical personnel from the Cebu City Health Department and facilitated by the CTU Main Campus Medical Clinic headed by Dr. Daisy Therese S. Llenes, with support from partner organizations including Yakult, the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP), and the Sub-National Blood Center for the Visayas.
The blood donation activity gathered volunteer donors from across the University community, including students, faculty, staff, employees, and participants from other sectors, all united by a common purpose of helping save lives through voluntary blood donation.
Organizers emphasized that the initiative aims to help address the increasing regional demand for safe and sufficient blood supply needed for emergencies, surgeries, and life-saving medical treatments in hospitals and medical centers across Region VII.
As a gesture of appreciation for their generosity and civic participation, donors received complimentary Yakult products after successfully donating blood.
Through programs such as the Mobile Blood Donation Drive, CTU continues to strengthen its culture of community engagement and public service by supporting initiatives that promote health, humanitarian action, and collective social responsibility./Al Rayan Tomalondog, CTU Main-BAEL Intern
