CTU joined the nation in celebrating Pambansang Buwan ng Panitikan 2026

Cebu Technological University – Main Campus culminated the annual celebration of Pambansang Buwan ng Panitikan, with Tertulyang Pampanitikan on April 29, 2026, at the Centennial Building Hall A.

With the theme “Panitikan at Kinaiyahan: Ang Balangay ng Sangkatauhan sa Pagpapalawak ng Kamalayang Makakalikasan,” the culmination was carried in adherence to the 2026 national theme, “Bekët Panitikan: Para sa Katwiran at Kalikasan.”

Spearheaded by the Director of CTU-Sentro ng Wika at Kultura, Dr. Fe A. Varona, the conference acknowledged the country’s literary artistry, particularly with the intersection of literature and the natural world, and its role in critically seeking the truth.

The event kicked off with insightful messages from Dr. Fe A. Varma; CTU – Main Campus Director, Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron; and the Commissioner of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), Atty. Marites A. Barrios-Taran.

To further lighten up the conference, discussions were provided by Dr. Geraldine C. Rebamonte of Sentro sa Wika at Kultura (SWaK), presenting theme-based local works, including the Verbo and Padayon Books; and Dr. Arnel T. Noval, presenting a lecture on Pagsasalimbayan ng Panitikan at Kalikasan: Ang Saysay sa mga Salaysay nga Cebuano sa Pag-amuma sa Kinaiyahan.

Among the participating speakers were Dr. Nemia F. Zamora and Dr. Danilo F. Cebe.

The month-long celebration of literature was also colored with related contests open to all students within the campus. These battles of the wordsmiths then hailed its winners, namely Charlyn D. Monterde for the Dagliang Pagsulat ng Tula, Joice Francine P. Arranguez for the Spoken Word Poetry, and Christine Joicy P. Caral for the Masining na Pagkukwento.

This celebration exhibits CTU’s brilliance of artistic craft in the field of literature while also honing its students to critically use this mastery in all disciplines with integrity. As Dr. Pajaron voiced out, “Huwag nating kalimutan na ang tunay na panitikan ay hindi lamang binabasa, ito ay isinasabuhay.”/Faith Hyacinth L. Pacquiao-CTU Main BAL Intern
