Come August 19th and 20th, Cebu Technological University (CTU) will host an international conference linked to Scopus-indexed Taylor & Francis publication opportunities, following confirmation secured by Sai Info Solution (SIS)—its newly signed partner—which has granted CTU the event rights.
Headquartered in the United Arab Emirates and with operational offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, India, and Singapore, Dr. Santosh Gore’s company SIS has offered the “unexpected” research mileage for CTU, according to Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Director Dr. Rhodora Magan, who first met Dr. Gore in Malaysia last November at a conference where both were panel speakers.
Learning from Dr. Magan’s news, Vice President for Research and Development Professor Pet Roey Pascual spoke on Wednesday of how the trajectory could entrench research dynamism among academics, especially with Scopus-indexed publications in view.
Given the university’s current Reporter Status in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings, there is a much-needed push to reach the required quota of research outputs, which both Dr. Pascual and Dr. Magan emphasized during the dialogue with Dr. Gore.
This imperative extends not only to THE but also to QS and AppliedHE rankings, to which the university is currently subscribed.
Among other initiatives being advanced under the partnership are faculty/student exchanges, transnational education, and internships for students across the degree programs.
Dr. Magan articulated the university’s diverse image in the global market, emphasizing that CTU must be positioned beyond a hospitality management–centered perception, as internship opportunities and related engagements extend across multiple disciplines, to which Dr. Gore responded with a commitment to bring CTU students to his multiple industry partners across continents.
Known internationally for its work in international accreditation, university rankings, and transnational higher education partnerships, SIS is expected to contribute significantly to CTU’s expanding international academic network and collaborative initiatives, said OIC President Professor Jonita Literatus, who squeezed in her time on Wednesday to materialize the deal.
In the coming days, groundwork will commence under the IAI Director, who said CTU has to brace for a massive two-day platform, anticipating diverse researchers and academics from all over the globe within a limited timeframe./IAI
