To equip faculty with IP‑driven commercialization skills, Cebu Technological University (CTU), through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, led a three-day training titled “Turning Ideas into Assets: IP Strategy, Valuation, and Marketing Entry” on June 9–11.
Designed to transform innovative ideas into valuable business assets, the training equipped participants with practical skills in Intellectual Property (IP) identification, protection, valuation, and commercialization strategies.
The program gathered faculty members from CTU’s North to South campuses and extension campuses (excluding the Main Campus) who are developing technologies with strong potential for IP application.
Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, Vice President for Research and Development, spearheaded the sessions together with resource speakers Dr. Naomi A. Bajao, University Director for Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) and Chairperson of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO).
Also steering the sessions were OIC–ITSO Manager Dr. Juvy B. Malonjao; ITSO Officers Dr. Jivulter C. Mangubat and Dr. James Paul G. Tamayo; Dr. Mario P. Rebucas, Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Chairperson; Dr. Marlou C. Godinez, Agri‑Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI) Project Staff, and Engr. Ray H. Malonjao of the College of Engineering.
Their collective expertise upheld the University’s pursuit of innovation through intellectual property and technology management.
By the end of the training, participants produced concrete outputs including IP applications, valuation reports, and business plans, laying the groundwork for innovations to enter the market and support CTU’s expanding base of research‑grounded enterprises.
