CTU Main-CAS holds 111th Commencement Exercises for 465 graduates

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Main Campus held its 111th Commencement Exercises today, June 29, at a hotel in Lahug, Cebu City, celebrating the graduation of 465 students from its undergraduate degree programs.

Dr. Raamah C. Rosales, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, presented the candidates for graduation from the Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Development Communication, Bachelor of Arts in English Language, Bachelor of Arts in Literature, Batsilyer ng Sining sa Filipino, Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and Bachelor of Science in Statistics programs.

Serving as the commencement speaker was Ms. Maryknoll L. Bolasa, a graduate of CTU Main’s BS Development Communication program and now the Corporate Planning Specialist of the Cebu Port Authority.

Drawing from her own journey of overcoming poverty and adversity, Bolasa encouraged the graduates to embrace lifelong learning and pursue their aspirations with faith, hope, and resilience.

“This moment is not about me. It is about every student who once doubted themselves but found the courage to keep going. It is about every child who continues to dream despite the hardships that they face, and it is about every parent who made quite sacrifices just so their children could remain in school and dream of a better future,”Bolosa said.

Upon the recommendation of Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr., OIC University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus formally conferred the degrees upon the candidates for graduation.

The commencement exercises were also graced by Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Romeo P. Montecillo, Vice President for Student Affairs, together with university officials, faculty members, parents, and guests.

Anchored on the theme, “The Technologist’s Heart: Fostering Human Connection in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” the ceremony reflected CTU’s commitment to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and values-driven education.
