To uplift underprivileged residents by boosting economic productivity and income, Cebu Technological University‑Main Campus, through the College of Technology (COT)’s Electrical and Electronics Department, in partnership with Barangay Cambinocot, Cebu City, successfully concluded its extension project on May 23.
The ‘Basic Electrical Installation and Maintenance’ initiative, held at CTU Main Campus Electrical Shops, equipped youth and parents from Barangay Cambinocot with industry‑aligned skills, opening pathways to livelihood and job opportunities.
Running from March to May 2026, the COT community extension team carried out a series of activities, beginning with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Barangay Cambinocot under Captain Reynald A. Lauron, followed by an occupational health and safety (OHS) orientation, and culminating in hands‑on training sessions.
These included practical exercises on wire splicing, applications of Ohm’s Law, circuit and layout design, PVC pipe bending, electrical metallic tubing installation, and building wiring practices.
Led by Dr. Wilson N. Cabillo, the project engaged selected Bachelor in Industrial Technology (BIT)-Electrical Technology students and faculty from Electrical and Electronics, alongside allied departments including TechM, ADT & IDT, and Civil Tech & FCM.
Through this project, CTU reinforced its dedication to dynamic community extension, channeling academic expertise into practical training that enhances workforce readiness and drives inclusive growth.
