Cebu Technological University (CTU) opened its five‑day activity “GAD in Motion: Strengthening CTU’s Institutional Pathways for Gender Mainstreaming” today June 22, bringing together key officials, Gender and Development (GAD) chairpersons, and personnel to advance gender‑responsive initiatives.
The event seeks to advance CTU’s pursuit of embedding gender responsiveness across institutional functions, systems, programs, and services.
OIC-University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus, in her speech, emphasized the importance of aligning projects with institutional priorities to ensure coherence and impact.
“We will be strengthening our direction for GAD, and in this way, we could also align everything for those projects that are not aligned,” Dr. Literatus said.
She further stressed that strengthening this direction is both strategic and vital to national compliance.
“As I have said, we have to strengthen because GAD is also part and important function of the University wherein we also have to follow as mandated.”
Today’s sessions featured resource speaker Ms. Maria Enriquita Myrel M. Siason, a member of the National GAD Resource Pool, Philippine Commission on Women (PCW)
Her discussions highlighted the comments and findings of the PCW and the Commission on Audit (COA) on CTU’s GAD agenda, 2025 plan, budget, and accomplishment report, as well as the 2026 GBP. These were presented alongside policy imperatives on gender and development, inputs for GAD planning and budgeting, and gender analysis using the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF)
Organized by the Office of the University Gender and Development under OIC‑University Director Dr. Mary Jane C. Sim, the five-day event upholds CTU’s dedication to mainstreaming gender equity and compliance with national GAD standards.
