Cebu City, DepEd, CTU Launch Graduate Scholarship Program for Teachers

To provide scholarship grants for teachers pursuing graduate studies, Cebu Technological University (CTU), along with the Cebu City Government and Department of Education (DepEd)-Division of Cebu City, sealed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Monday, July 20.

Held at the Cebu City Mayor’s Office, the signing officially established a partnership to implement the Scholarship Program for Master’s and Doctoral degrees for teachers and school heads in the Division of Cebu City.

OIC-University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus signed the MOA alongside Cebu City Mayor Nestor D. Archival and DepEd Cebu City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Nimfa D. Bongo.

“The Parties mutually recognize that strengthening the qualifications and professional capacities of teachers and school heads through graduate education is essential to achieving excellence in education and advancing the City’s development goals,” the MOA reads.

Further, Dr. Literatus was accompanied by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Reylan G. Capuno and Atty. Christian T. Bacus of the Legal Office during the signing.

Also on hand for the MOA signing were heads and representatives from Cebu’s other higher education institutions: the University of the Visayas, University of Cebu, Cebu Institute of Technology–University, and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.

The MOA stands as a strategic investment in Cebu’s teaching workforce, affirming CTU’s enduring pursuit of academic excellence while advancing the city’s educational progress.
