Promised a south-to-north, albeit academic, trek across Cebu Technological University (CTU) campuses, Fulbright scholar Dr. Audie Cherry would tag along former Texan agriculture students in May of next year.
The plan that would have only Dr. Cherry and the Texas State University (TSU) students sidelining CTU has shifted to a full 14-day academic and cultural acclimatization at the campuses in Barili, Argao, Tuburan, and CCMSC. San Francisco and Carmen are looped in for an exposure to fishery.
Vice President for Research and Development Dr. Pet Roey Pascual and Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Director Dr. Rhodora Magan have skewed the activity towards having the TSU delegation stay only at CTU for the entire duration.
Yesterday’s meeting with OIC President Dr. Jonita Literatus had the assistant professor confirming the dates and stops during the two-week excursion, with Barili as the main host for the first week and the rest of the campuses mentioned in the next.
Dr. Cherry has been affiliated with TSU’s
Department of Agricultural Sciences, following his Fulbright scholarship implementation at CTU Barili a couple of years back. He now gravitates towards bringing his students to Cebu—a prelude to a long-term mobility both institutions have envisioned./IAI
