The final leg of Dr. Annete Dassi’s short stay at Cebu Technological University had academics sharing their thoughts on community projects on Monday, which she would also convey to her colleagues at Zittau/Goerlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Dr. Dassi, who has just left the country, invested a couple of hours to silver-line the plan of hatching research-based extension activities. Being a project coordinator herself, she spoke of how the proposal should strive for uniqueness and impact on societies.
As October approaches, attendees have been aware of how their proposals could make it to Dr. Dassi’s desk. Should any of the submissions get green-lighted, there is ample time for travel clearance processing of the outbound activity [via Erasmus funding] to commence in March of next year.
Following a community lecture in San Francisco to a meeting with the Internationalization and ASEAN leadership to the interaction with Dr. Mydah Kabingue, Dr. Robert Jay Angco, Dr. Mila Mae Caballero and Dr. Charena Castro, she has essentially contributed to the concretization of the collaboration as an offshoot of CTU’s partnership with her institution.
Apart from research collaborations leading to publications, the agreement signed in July will have more mobility protocols such as lectureships and faculty/student exchanges in the coming months./IAI
