GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT | Lecturer connects with Indonesians through I-VISTA visiting scholar program

Asst. Prof. Ruby Guia virtually concluded her talk with students at Universitas PGRI Semarang (UPS) in June, as part of its I-VISTA Visiting Scholar Program.

Around 100 students listened to the entrepreneurship-driven Argao academic, who, in a statement, shared how it was a “rewarding experience and a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and establish meaningful academic connections.”

Guia acknowledged Dr. Presena Arisyanto, who introduced her to the Faculty of Economics.

Both attended the Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship at O.P. Jindal  Global University in India last year.

“Our academic interactions evolved into research collaborations and joint publication initiatives,” she noted.

It was also Arisyanto who made her join UPS’ inaugural conference last December, where she presented her paper, “Economic Growth & Social Values: Aligning for Well-being.”

Both institutions see more opportunities for collaboration once the agreement is signed./IAI
