The first research conference with recent ally Universitas Pancasakti (UPS) Tegal has Dr. Sylvester Cortes packing as he readies to take the speakership role on July 23rd in a fully funded trip to Indonesia.
The College of Arts and Sciences associate professor is one of the four to share his expertise at the 5th International Conference on Engineering Design and Environmental Sustainability (ICEDES 2026).
Alongside ICEDES participation are his academic visits to neighboring Indonesian HEIs Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) and Universitas Semarang (USM) to maximize his time until the 27th.
Complementing the conference is the Joint Summer Camp, where two of his students would be joining, as both have received from UPS a mobility package as well.
The signing of agreement in May this year really proved the intent worthy, as more platforms are designed to unfold for both faculty and students alike to exercise global citizenship in an interculturally sensitive trajectory./IAI
