A delegation of Japanese local government officials and members of their respective Boards of Education visited Cebu Technological University–Naga Extension Campus (CTU-NEC) on July 22 as part of an initiative to establish education partnerships between local government units in Japan and the City Government of Naga.
Officer-in-Charge Campus Director Atty. Marvey A. Ocampo welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for CTU Naga’s inclusion in the international visit, recognizing the City Government of Naga’s efforts to open opportunities for academic and cultural collaboration.
The delegation included representatives from Mashiki Town, Kikuchi City, Kamiamakusa City, and Nakama City, with the visit coordinated by Mr. Norihisa Yobuki of JP-Holdings Inc., Tokyo. Although regular classes are scheduled to begin in August, the university hosted the visitors and introduced them to the campus.
The visit formed part of activities leading to the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the City Government of Naga, participating Japanese local government units, and educational institutions.
Under the partnership, the parties aim to promote English-language learning, educational and cultural exchanges, career development opportunities for Naga residents, and the implementation of a free Japanese-language course program.
The initiative is expected to open opportunities for future academic exchanges and collaborative programs involving CTU Naga, the City Government of Naga, and partner institutions in Japan.
