To strengthen professional competencies, instructional practices, and institutional effectiveness, faculty members and deans of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Management and Entrepreneurship (CME) of the Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus began their three-day In-Service Training 2026 on Tuesday, August 11, at a resort in Cordova, Cebu.
The training featured capacity-building sessions and discussions focused on best practices in instruction, research, extension, and administration, while promoting collaboration and professional accountability among faculty members and deans.
In his message, CAS Dean Dr. Raamah C. Rosales stressed the importance of embracing accountability as an integral part of the faculty’s professional identity.
“In CTU, we have our own system, and part of the system is only the faculty can perform. If we fail, I hope that aside from strengthening that function, we really have to internalize that it is part of our job, that it is part of who we are as the faculty, as the teacher for the institution and for the students,” Dr. Rosales remarked.
Meanwhile, Dr. Amelia Girly L. Aranas, CME Dean, emphasized the faculty’s ongoing academic commitment.
“As part of our responsibility to the University, this initiative is directed toward our regular faculty, requiring the retooling of both our syllabus and our Table of Specification (TOS). This forms a vital component of the review process—an essential step in strengthening our instructional practices and reaffirming our academic commitment,” she said.
Day 1 highlighted the CTU grading system per BOR Resolution No. 81, s. 2019 and Student Handbook 2024 per BOR Resolution No. 174, s. 2024, presented by Asst. Prof. Julius D. Selle, while Campus Dean of Instruction Dr. Imelda J. Villarin discussed the Syllabus and Table of Specifications (TOS).
Reflecting the collaborative spirit that defines the institution, Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron, Jr. underscored the enduring value of teamwork
“Working alongside a dedicated team is a true privilege. And I know we can rely on that same enthusiasm as we step into this new academic year. I am confident that we can build upon our past achievements and reach even greater heights,” Dr. Pajaron said.
The three‑day initiative upholds CTU’s steadfast commitment to faculty development, fostering accountability, academic retooling, and collaborative excellence in pursuit of the Colleges’ shared instructional and organizational goals.
