To enhance professional competencies, promote best practices, and boost institutional progress, faculty and deans from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Management and Entrepreneurship (CME) of Cebu Technological University–Main Campus concluded their three‑day In‑Service Training on August 13.
Led by CAS Dean Dr. Raamah C. Rosales and CME Dean Dr. Amelia Girly Aranas, the training opened with a discussion on the CTU Grading System, anchored on BOR Resolution No. 81, s. 2019, and the 2024 edition of the Student Handbook, led by Assistant Professor Julius D. Selle, Associate Dean of CAS.
Further, Dr. Imelda J. Villarin, Campus Dean of Instruction, presented the Syllabus and Table of Specifications (ToS). She emphasized the need to standardize instructional content, align faculty outputs with academic benchmarks, and reinforce the CTU’s commitment to quality assurance in teaching and learning.
On Day 2, Data Protection Officer Prof. Johannes M. Camasura, also a member of the AI for Developing Countries Forum (AIFOD), delivered a lecture on “Maximizing AI Tools to Enhance the CTU Teaching Profession,” emphasizing the responsible integration of AI to boost teaching efficiency and academic innovation.
Engr. Antonieto F. Pacayra centered his talks on Republic Act (RA) 12009, the New Government Procurement Act, which overhauls and modernizes the 21‑year‑old Government Procurement Reform Act (RA 9184) to enhance flexibility, harness technology, improve efficiency, and promote sustainability.
Further, a budget discussion was led by Dr. Emma R. Sacan, Chief Administrative Officer for Finance, who also presented the financial performance as of June 30, 2026, in the General Appropriations Act (GAA)-Agency-specific budget.
Prof. Selle then outlined the faculty and staff development, curriculum development, and student development funds, along with other key allocations.
At the close of the three‑day training, faculty and deans finalized and submitted their syllabus and ToS, marking the culmination of collaborative refinements aimed at strengthening instructional standards and academic consistency across campuses.
