The Western Galilee College–Cebu Technological University International Summer Program 2026 took its exchange beyond the lecture room as Dr. Hagit Turgeman brought her research perspective into a community-based peace-and-order engagement in Danao.
The visit built on CTU Danao’s partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and connected Dr. Turgeman’s criminology work with CTU’s existing public-safety initiatives.
Dr. Denilin Batulan, who established the CTU–BJMP partnership, led the engagement and opened discussions on how Turgeman’s study could complement local work in justice, corrections, and public safety. The Israeli also brings a background that seeks to identify indicators that can help anticipate crime-related risks. /IAI
