Western Galilee College’s Dr. Hagit Turgeman has opened the academic lecture series of the International Summer School Program 2026 on Monday, August 17, at CTU Danao.
Her talk, “Crime on Telegram,” set the comparative frame for the week, followed by College of Arts and Sciences Dean Dr. Emily Costan’s lecture, “Social Inequality, Migration, and Community Development in the Philippines and the ASEAN Region.”
Themed “Communities, Justice, and Society: Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Criminology, Education and Sociology,” the program [that ends this Thursday] combines lectures, community immersion, academic networking, and research discussions.
Dr. Turgeman and the four master’s students also met with campus director Dr. Rose Mary Almacen, whose accommodation of them has factored in the university’s ongoing global positioning campaign./IAI
