GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT | Phase 2 of WGC-CTU summer school bared

The Western Galilee College (WGC) delegation wants a Phase 2 of its international summer school with Cebu Technological University, saying its one-week stint limited the time they could devote to lectures, classroom exchanges, and interaction with students.

The proposal came during a courtesy call with CTU OIC President Dr. Jonita Literatus and the Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) leadership, who agreed to the proposal.

For the second phase, the WGC team wants deeper instructional engagement with CTU students and faculty and extended time to develop the “profound” conversations, which to them formed a significant part of the exchange.

Students raised questions from their own experiences and challenges, and the Israeli lecturers found strong resonance between those questions and the themes of their lectures, delegation lead Dr.Hagit Turgeman said.

They also carried the weight of their meeting with persons deprived of liberty during the jail visit, which gave the academic discussions a direct connection to real community and justice concerns.

The delegation left Cebu last night, looking forward to return before the year expires./IAI
