Reinforcing institutional priorities, operational strategies, and impact‑driven extension services for Fiscal Year 2027, Cebu Technological University (CTU) conducted its University‑wide Extension Strategic Planning on August 3-5, 2026.
The three-day workshop gathered University officials, extension chairpersons, and key stakeholders to review accomplishments, address emerging challenges, and harmonize campus and college initiatives.
Resource persons delivered critical inputs on extension management, gender mainstreaming, intellectual property, procurement compliance, legal governance, and financial stewardship.
Among the highlights were Dr. Lynnette Matea S. Camello’s review of extension accomplishments, OPCR, and orientation on CHED Memorandum Order No. 18, Series of 2025; Dr. Mary Jane C. Sim’s integration of Gender and Development (GAD) principles into extension planning; and Dr. Naomi A. Bajao’s emphasis on intellectual property protection and technology transfer.
Further discussion featured Engr. Antonieto F. Pacayra’s discussion on Republic Act No. 12009 (New Government Procurement Act); Atty. Dennis M. Villazorda’s legal guidance on partnerships and compliance; and Dr. Emma R. Sacan’s presentation on financial accountability and budget utilization strategies.
Key outputs included cascaded the Major Final Output (MFO) 4 targets, enhanced strategies for client satisfaction surveys, strengthened gender-responsive and legally compliant programs, intellectually protected extension initiatives, consolidated recommendations for revising the University Extension Manual, and harmonized financial and procurement planning.
The activity advances CTU’s Research and Extension Agenda by reinforcing mechanisms for quality, accountable, and impact‑driven services, while ensuring programs remain community‑responsive and aligned with national policies, quality assurance standards, and MFO 4 performance targets.
This alignment strengthens CTU’s institutional mechanisms for accountable governance, evidence‑based planning, and sustainable service delivery, positioning extension as a vital pillar of research utilization, innovation management, and nation‑building.
