Cebu Technological University (CTU) convened a coordination meeting on August 4-5 to review and amend the Student Handbook, the University’s primary policy document governing student rights, responsibilities, discipline, campus safety, student organizations, grievance procedures, and the delivery of Student Affairs and Services (SAS).
The two-day meeting gathered SAS Deans, Directors, and key officials to present campus concerns, deliberate on proposed amendments, and ensure alignment with legal standards and institutional mandates.
OIC‑University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus backed the initiative, which advanced campus safety interventions, reinforced grievance mechanisms, and strengthened preventive measures for student discipline, shaping deliberations on student rights, responsibilities, code of conduct, and student services provisions.
Facilitated by the Office of the University Director for Student Development and Information under Arch. Ann Frances P. Cabigon, OIC-SAS Dean, the event produced consolidated comments and recommendations from all campuses, proposed amendments to the CTU Student Handbook, and legal compliance inputs discussed by Atty. Christian T. Bacus of the University Legal Office.
It also outlined a clear timeline and action plan for the finalization, approval, and implementation of the revised handbook, ensuring policies remain responsive, accountable, and aligned with institutional mandates.
