CTU Main Alumni Association launches solar-powered charging station

The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Alumni Association inaugurated a solar-powered charging station at the Student Lounge during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 17, 2026.

Leading the ribbon-cutting were Hon. Nobil Batiancila, President of the CTU Main Alumni Association, and Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr., CTU Main Campus Director, with the presence of Dr. Marie Joy Alit, University Director for Alumni Affairs, together with members of the association’s Board of Trustees and other alumni members.

The charging station provides CTU students with an accessible source of power for their electronic devices, offering practical support for academic activities and other learning needs amid recurring power interruptions and rotational brownouts experienced in Cebu.

Powered by solar energy, the project also promotes the use of renewable energy on campus.

The initiative was made possible through the support and cooperation of the CTU Main Campus Management, CTU Main Alumni Association officers, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and other members of the university community.

The newly inaugurated project reflects the continued collaboration between CTU and its alumni in developing initiatives that provide practical support to students while promoting sustainability on campus.
