Cebu Technological University: Argao Campus College of Arts and Sciences (CTU-AC CAS) with Regional Director of DSWD, Rebecca P. Geamala and the Center Head of the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY), Aileen G. Cuevas, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) last February 21, 2022, at Candabong, Binlod, Argao Cebu.
A 10-month project extension service offered by the College of Arts and Sciences entitled “CAS Shares ‘HEART’ to RRCY” was launched last March 4, 2022, and will conclude this December 2022 with an entire duration of 154 hours.
The agreement stipulates that CTU-Argao CAS will conduct once-in-a-week sessions, every Friday 1:00 pm -5:00 pm, to train the children in conflict with the law (CICL) as well as the selected staff of the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY), targeting the objectives of four different course components: Human Kinetics, Emotional Well-being, Arts, Reading/Literature and Technology/Science.
The said parties’ connection arises despite the competing demands of this pandemic surge.
It allows resolute training to augment the cognition, skills, well-being, and literacy of CICL and RRCY staff and an opportunity for CTU-AC CAS to extend a sustainable program to the community as one of the University’s core functions.
