Together with our partner-collaborators and foreign guests of the Global Initiatives for Exchange and Development (GIED), six of our education students participated as models wearing some of the collections of Hinablon sa Cebu and Handwoven in Argao during the runway last October 14, 2022, held at Cebu Technological University Argao Campus.
With the outstanding leadership of Dr. Jorelyn Concepcion as the runway director, this event was a success.
The said runway was graced by the Local Government Unit of Argao (Mayor Allan Sesaldo, Vice-Mayor Orvie Ortega, Atty. Herculene Rizon, Hon. Yves Dela Peña and staff) CTU-AC Administration, Dr. Lynnette Matea Camello, UD for Extension Services; along with the ESD, teaching & non-teaching staff; and Core faculty members of the College of Education.
The runway showcases the outputs of the cultural heritage of Pagpanghablon or weaving in the town, which was considered a dying industry but has been revitalized through the Extension Program of the College of Education.
The event is a significant step for strengthened international collaboration and linkages leading to sustainable livelihood of the habloneras and sustainable programs for cultural heritage and community development.
